Prelaunch Webinar Minutes – 30 Oct 08

Today’s meeting focused on SEO myths and a report on the use of Wordpress for ALG lead blogs.

1.  Phil began by giving examples of how duplicate content was able to rank higher than the original content of the same material.  Another example was how the Social Security Administration is able to rank second in Google for the term “baby names” with only 90 of its 20,000 plus pages relating to baby names.

The point is that with the proper use of the right title tags and relevant inbound links, top search engine listings in organic search is quite possible – with or without duplicate content.

2.  Within Wordpress, Phil figured out how to allow for automatic user account creation (upon optin) and then automatic login to personalized pages within specific categories (via email links) – all invisible to the user.  More instruction on how to do this will be provided in upcoming meetings.

Future advancements for Wordpress integration include: user specific content – based on previous visits/interactions; rotational offers/CPA stuff – also personalized, based on previous actions; and a higher level of user interaction, to include a custom home page unique to them.

3.  Meeting concluded with an open discussion about potential options for WP membership sites and ongoing continuity beyond basic lead generation.

Prelaunch Webinar Minutes – 23 Oct 08

The topic of today’s meeting was Wordpress blogs and plugins and how they fit into the lead generation process.

Phil showed two diagrams that laid out the lead gen and monetization funnel.  Or at least two possible variations out of virtually dozens available.

He demo’d how a link in an email can take the lead to a personalized page – to include a personalized post title, text and affiliate link.  This is done via a plugin that Phil created.

He also demo’d a blog setup as a lead capture platform with the added benefit of content generated via RSS feeds.

Prelaunch Webinar Minutes – 16 Oct 08

The focus for today’s meeting was on Advanced Lead Generation University (ALGU).

Phil took the attendees on a tour of ALGU, to include how to access some new content he had uploaded.

He demonstrated how to navigate the site and where to find the training.

In addition to the Lead Generation Videos, version 2, there are now two additional courses available.

1. Aweber Unleashed videos – a series of short videos that teach how to get the maximum benefits from the Aweber platform.

2.  A PPC course with in-depth instruction on virtually all aspects of setting-up and managing a PPC account and associated campaigns.

Phil asked the attendees to review the PPC material and be prepared to give some feedback at the next meeting.

All till next week.

Prelaunch Webinar Minutes – 9 Oct 08

Today’s meeting focused on creating high-quality Wordpress lead blogs and the various structures that can be used for niche-based sites.

The benefits of Wordpress for our purposes include, but are not limited to: automated content generation/publishing, keyword-specific text links (affiliate or non-affiliate) and the option of having a keyword generated store – or a combination of the three.

The idea is to provide and implement multiple methods of monetization for our lead blogs.

Phil demo’d the Alinks and Autoblogged plugins and detailed how they can be used to provide additional forms of monetization as well as increased SEO.

Also demo’d the MaxBlogPress unblockable popup plugin as a method of collecting leads or getting some initial optins for warm-up/follow-up later.

He mentioned that he’s evaluating several different options/systems that will work best with ALG, but without carrying a large – or any – cost to ALG members.

One of those systems is Wordpress Direct. Also, he feels that the Shopp plugin may just be the best one to use for setting up a store that auto-fills with Clickbank, Ebay and Amazon products, based on the keywords selected.

Wordpress Direct allows you to set-up three niche Wordpress blogs for free and is also integral to Ed Dale’s 30-Day Challenge program, which is also free.

Phil recommended we check out the 30-Day Challenge due to it’s valuable content and no-cost availablity.

More to follow on how to best integrate Wordpress into our lead gen efforts.  It’s clear, though, that it will be an extremely valuable platform to generate high search engine listings, authority, free traffic and zero-cost leads, as well as long-term sustainability.

Prelaunch Webinar Minutes – 2 Oct 08

Phil presented a slideshow reviewing client site setup.  Demo’d how the various pages are accessed and edited.

For now, access links to header graphics for the client sites are found below the “Client Site Content” button on the main control panel menu.

Demo’d how to publish client site pages, etc. through the ALG interface.  It is strongly suggested that each member have a separate domain and hosting account for their client site.

Showed what clients see when they login, how they register (via double opt-in) and edit their data.

Demo’d the follow-up functions within the Leads Manager, which is optional for clients to use.

Also showed the workings of the Invoice Manager menu. Clients can pay their receipts via PayPal from within the interface – including pre-paying, so the leads keep flowing to them.  Clients can also download their leads and stats on either Excel or Word.

Ended the meeting with Fred giving a report of his adventures with lead campaigns and PPC, which was quite informative.
