Agenda Items:
1. WordPress Plugin
2. Forms Update
3. What’s Next?
1. WordPress Plugin – Phil is making progress on the new forms plugin he’s working on.
It uses no Javascript, which can be blocked by some people.
It will essentially make forms “smarter”. All forms will be centralized in ALG.
Phil is going to offer the plugin to the WordPress community as a free download.
To register and use it, folks will have to become members of ALG.
Clearly, this will increase visibility, traffic and membership for ALG.
2. Forms Update – Forms are now enabled with custom, user-defined error messages for
inaccurate or incomplete data entry. As mentioned earlier, if the Javascript is not being
used to pop-up an error message, another method must be implemented.
Phil went over the changes he made in the form code to enable proper functionality between
Aweber, WordPress and ALG without Javascript.
He showed an example of how the three basic form code snippets –
label, input box and error message – affect the look and functionality of the form.
3. What’s Next – Phil went over a new option he’s working on that will present newly confirmed leads
with an immediate choice of one or more clients right on the thank you page .
Depending on the niche and the urgency of the lead, this might be an excellent way
to quickly “cash-in” the lead.
We could also include links, coupons/discount codes & contact info to the selected clients in the PDF they download.
And provide them with that info via email/personalized blog post follow-up, as well.
Group discussion about other monetization models began. One possibility is to pre-establish
ALG accounts for prospective clients.
Then, either pre-load their accounts with a few trial leads, or ask them to login to their new
account and activate their request for some trial leads. Or some other similar version.
The most difficult part may be getting prospective clients to respond to our offer in the first place.
Some testing of approaches will be necessary, i.e. cold calling, email, PPC, Craigslist/Kijiji, postal mail, etc. More to follow.
