1. Setting Up Client Site – The steps involved in setting up your client site, if you don’t already have one, are:
1A. Buy an appropriate, keyword-rich domain name. Based on your business model and preferences, you can set up the site as either a generic “business leads” type of site, or a niche-specific site, such as dental leads.
Also, you may want to set up multiple client sites, like a single generic site as well as multiple niche-specific sites, since they all feed into the ALG platform.
1B. Install Wordpress. Of course, you must have hosting first, and you sure don’t want to use a platform that isn’t on YOUR host. In other words, NO using Wordpress.com – only use that for linking to the blog you’ve built on your self-hosted Wordpress.org blog.
1C. Pick a theme. There are thousands of free themes available on the web as well as thousands of paid themes. The choice is yours. Just keep in mind that you usually get what you pay for…
1D. Install ALG plugins. In order for your remote Wordpress blog to integrate with both ALG and Aweber, these plugins are essential. They are always available on the ALG member’s blog.
If you already have your client site setup on ALG, you can move it to your host. Simply copy the html files and place them as “pages” within a fresh Wordpress install.
Phil also said it would probably be best (but not necessary) if we each now move our dental blogs, as well. Too many of the same type of site hosted on a single IP may be detrimental to our SEO efforts.
2. Installing WP Client Plugin – The three main features included in this plugin are:
2A. Displays the Client Application. It helps you get your client site up and running quickly on any Wordpress blog.
2B. Flexibility. It allows you to manage your content like any other site.
2C. Capture. It’s configurable to capture client’s leads. He showed the various necessary pages he added to the plugin – Login, Client Login, Wrong Password and Activate. This plugin automatically creates these pages.
3. Client Email Message Sequence – Went over the four-stage trial lead email sequence.
3A. Lead Capture – delivered to all clients in niche designated as “trial”.
3B. Client Email – client receives message with link to activate account, pointing to the client domain in your profile.
3C. Client Activate – if your client clicks the activation link, both you and they receive confirmation messages.
3D. Lead Delivery – “New Lead” messages are delivered until the last trial lead has been delivered.
Showed screenshots of the three critical settings for proper management of trial leads within the Client Profile menu in ALG:
I. Client Login – Set this dropdown to “No”. Upon client activation, it will change automatically to “Yes”.
II. Client Pay Type – set this to “Trial”, of course.
III. # Trial Leads - type in the number of trial leads you are offering.
4. Blog Wizard Status – Still working on this feature. When finished, members will be able to login to all of their connected blogs, manage content, etc. from the central ALG console.
5. What’s Next / Phil’s Rant / Thanks -
What’s Next: Blog Setup Wizard and Forms Manager are coming soon!
Leads2Profits is now up and running with campaigns in pool building, windows and housing niches and selling them to big names like Sears. Sears is also receiving leads via the XML
delivery method. These campaigns will really test the functionality and robustness of the ALG platform.
Phil’s Rant / To Do:
5A. Update your five client trial lead email messages (and after-hours phone message script, if you plan on using one).
5B. Choose and buy a domain name. Try using NameBoy.com to create a good name and Namecheap.com to register it.
5C. Create a new Wordpress blog on your host to be your main client site and begin to flesh it out with content.
Let’s go, people! Everything is more than ready enough for you to get your Lead Gen business up and running. Just focus on what you need to do and do it every day.
Thanks: As always, thanks a bunch for attending and for your continued support!
